Los Angeles Turkish Film Festival’s guest Nuri Bilge Ceylan met with the excitement of cinephiles in Los Angeles. Ceylan arrived in Los Angeles to attend LATFF’s program celebrating the centennial of Turkish cinema. Ceylan first answered famous film critic Elvis Mitchell’s questions before Winter Sleep screening in LACMA. The screening was a collaboration of Film Independent and LATFF. Nuri Bilge Ceylan, who won the last year’s Palme d’Or Award in Cannes Film Festival, was hosted for a master class in UCLA. Ceylan answered audience questions after sharing his filmmaking experiences and discussing clips chosen by renowned cinematographer John Bailey. While Ceylan left for Turkey after the highly attended events, LATFF team will continue to celebrate the centennial of Turkish cinema with a series of film screenings.
